HP provides management packs for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) for monitoring a HP Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA). These management packs can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The management packs supplied by HP use the WEBES component to forward events about the EVA (warnings or errors) to SCOM, but it won\u2019t collect performance data or capacity information.<\/p>\n

Alain C\u00f4te has create a management pack for collecting performance data and placing it in SCOM, which can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately there was no management pack for collecting capacity information about storage systems or diskgroups.<\/p>\n

Since I needed to collect information about the capacity, usage and available storage space, for trending analysis I\u2019ve created the management pack.<\/p>\n

The management pack uses the \u2018SMI-S CIMOM\u2019 component of \u2018HP Command View EVA\u2019 software to communicate with the EVA storagesystem. SMI-S<\/a> is an open iniative specification for gathering information from a storagsystem.<\/p>\n
