Please check your credentials.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, regaining access to the App-V management server is pretty easy.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h1>Who\u2019s authorized?<\/h1>\n<p>During the installation of the <strong>first<\/strong> Management Server an active directory group or account is <strong>specified<\/strong> that is <strong>authorized<\/strong> to manage App-V.\u00a0 Unless you\u2019ve added other groups or accounts this is the only account that\u2019s authorized to <strong>administer<\/strong> Microsoft App-V.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ingmarverheij.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Microsoft-Applicaton-Virtualization-App-V-Server-5.0-Setup.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px currentColor; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; float: none; display: block; background-image: none;\" title=\"Microsoft Applicaton Virtualization (App-V) Server 5.0 Setup\" alt=\"Microsoft Applicaton Virtualization (App-V) Server 5.0 Setup\" src=\"https:\/\/ingmarverheij.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Microsoft-Applicaton-Virtualization-App-V-Server-5.0-Setup_thumb.png\" width=\"354\" height=\"268\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h1><\/h1>\n<h1>ManagementDB<\/h1>\n<p>Fortunately the <strong>role<\/strong> <strong>assignments<\/strong> are stored in the <strong>Management<\/strong> <strong>Database<\/strong> on the SQL, making it easy to regain access. All you need is the Microsoft SQL Management Studio (or similar) and browse to the App-V management database (typically <strong>AppVManagement <\/strong>when installed via the installer or <strong>AppVirtManagement <\/strong>when installed via script) and edit the table <strong>[RoleAssignments].<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here you can see the <strong>SID <\/strong>of the Active Directory <strong>object <\/strong>that\u2019s <strong>authorized <\/strong>to manage App-V, using PowerShell (for instance) you can determine which account a SID belongs to (see <a href=\"https:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/library\/ff730940.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Microsoft TechNet<\/a>), However. the easiest way to regain access is to add your <strong>users SID <\/strong>to the table and assign the <strong>role <\/strong>\u201cADMIN\u201d.\u00a0 The table has the following columns:<\/p>\n<table width=\"742\" border=\"1\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"2\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"91\"><strong>Column<\/strong><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"259\"><strong>Description<\/strong><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"380\"><strong>Values<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"95\"><strong>Id<\/strong><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"259\">Unique identifier of the record<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"380\"><em>Automatically filled by SQL<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"98\"><strong>RoleName<\/strong><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"259\">The name of the role<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"380\">ADMIN \u2013 Administrative access<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"101\"><strong>Sid<\/strong><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"259\">The secure unique identifier of the Active Directory object<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"380\">S-1-5-21-\u2026..
